1. Traffic Challenges One of the downsides of Clarksburg is traffic congestion, particularly on Interstate 270. While it’s convenient to have direct highway access, it also means dealing with heavy traffic, especially as you get closer to Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, there’s no train service from Clarksburg to D.C., so driving is the primary commuting option, which can exacerbate traffic issues.

2. Limited Dining Options Despite having great shopping at the Clarksburg Premium

Outlets, the town has limited dining options. There are only a few restaurants within the outlets and the Clarksburg Village Center. However, you’re not too far from Germantown and Frederick, where you can find a wider array of dining choices. But within Clarksburg itself, options are somewhat restricted.

3. Limited Housing Inventory Clarksburg’s popularity means that housing inventory is often limited. Homes tend to get snapped up quickly, and the market can be competitive. At the time of writing, there were only 18 homes available for sale, including single-family homes, townhomes, and a condo. The median home price is quite high, reflecting the desirability of the area. While there is some new construction, options remain limited, so starting your housing search early is essential.
